North End

North end neighborhood is one of the well known and repudiated neighborhoods in Idaho and has almost gained the status of vital landmark. It is situation adjacent to downtown in the state capital of Boise. Today it has emerged as a singular and unique example of diverse and handsome building rocks, American inner ring suburb, expensive streets lined with trees, pocket parks, proximity to some great schools and other varied amenities. Though it is considered as the most desirable place to live in, but earlier it was not so.

After the World War II, and into the 1960s, the neighborhood went major decline and was on the border of becoming a slum. However, diverse concerned coalition of community leaders and local residents joined together to plan an all different outcome. And the outcome is what we see today in the north end neighborhood. It is regarded as one of the 10 great neighborhoods by American planning Association which is APA for the year 2008.

North end Neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Boise. The houses of the area were built in the year 1878. But the neighborhood features a variety of styles including cottage bungalows and Queens Annes. This residential district is listed in the sections of Historic places on the national register. Children walk to their schools daily gathering around designated retail area of the districts National Register, around Hyde Park or simply on the routes that trail through Boise foothills and Camels Back Park. The neighborhood is also characterized with growing job market as repudiated companies like Hewlett-Packard, Micron Technology, the Mountain Home Air Force Base and St. Luke's Regional MedicalCenter have set their offices and branches here. Moreover these all are complemented with smoothly running school that is marked with kids graduating with above state and national average scores.
